Last week new, brightly coloured posters were installed on the inside of Liss Station to bring some of the countryside into the somewhat grey building.
Funded by the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, South West Trains, the Association of Community Rail Partnerships, East Hampshire District Council and the South Downs National Park, the panels depict various countryside scenes and attractions in the Park. They aim to encourage more people to visit the South Downs National Park by train and whet their appetites as to what is on offer.
The panels are the first phase of an installation which will eventually see another 16 panels produced and installed on the right hand side of the booking hall as you enter. These are currently being designed by Liss Crossover Youth Club and all going well should be put up in the next few months.
I hope you agree they are a worthwhile improvement to the appearance of the station!
